In particular, international superstars shone in Saturday’s main event at Bradgate Park indoor arena, the Jilli Cobcroft Grand Prix (CDI) Freestyle.
Four-time Olympian, and four-time World Equestrian Games competitor Mary Hanna took out the event on Umbro, calling on all her international experience to nail her performance to earn an overall percentage score of 75.95 and hold off challenges from fellow world-beaters Maree Tomkinson, Caroline Wagner and Heath Ryan in second, third and fourth respectively.
Also on Saturday, Elliot Patterson and Boronia HG shone in the Horse First Advanced 5.2, taking top spot with a spectacular score of 71.76 from Lizzie Wilson-Fellows (70.95) in second, aboard Lets Jazzabit.
Victoria Welch took out the Orange Veterinary Hospital Grand Prix (CDN) Freestyle, also on Saturday, riding Glogau to an overall percentage score of 68.90, with Roger Fitzhardinge and Weltsohn coming second with 66.45.
Ryan got his top podium spot in yesterday’s main event, the Commins Hendriks Solicitors Grand Prix Special, riding Regardez Moi to first with a score of 67.45. Ryan also finished fourth in the event, riding Utopian Cardinal, with 64.56.
