“I just wanted to throw up when I saw it,” she said.

Ginn said she had grown up with greyhounds and been involved in training and racing all her life.

“They are not natural-born killers as they are being portrayed - they are loving, gentle animals,” she said.

Ginn said she was appalled rogue trainers were bringing the industry into disrepute.

“Ninety-five per cent of owners and trainers do the right thing and follow the rules,” she said.

She said in her experience greyhounds just loved to run and didn’t need to be blooded with live animals.

“You can train them with a fluffy toy or a white plastic bag,” she said.

Ginn said greyhound owners she had spoken to were concerned the whole industry was tarnished by the live baiting revelations.

“We don’t want to be all tarred with the same brush,” she said.

She said she was in two minds about the dismissal of the Greyhound Racing NSW board.

“Its hard to say because I don’t really know anyone on the board,” she said.

“But what we do need on the board is people involved in the industry.”
