Event coordinator Toni McCauley said the ball would have an apple theme and would include dinner and wine as well as live music by Orange band Elephant Gerald Trio, made up of Kyle Manning, Pat O’Donnell and Bryce Stacker.
The three course dinner will be provided by a Borenore caterer and the beer and wine will also come from Borenore.
Mrs McCauley said the Borenore Progress Association took over the lease of the station from John Holland Railway in 2013 so it could be restored.
She said the association was running the ball to cover the insurance costs for the station, tennis courts and playground.
“What we need to do is raise funds for the insurance, each year it is $3500,” she said.
“We want to keep it (the station) in the community’s hands.”
The association has also upgraded the tennis shed and is planning to reopen the courts after the ball.
“We will restore one first so it is up and running for the community to use,” Mrs McCauley said.
Rather than having multiple sausage sizzles, Mrs McCauley said she was inspired by the balls that used to be held on the field days site and would unite the community.
Doors will open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
Tickets for the Borenore Ball are $85 each and there will be a bus available.
To attend the ball RSVP today, Friday, February 20. Phone Toni on 0411 062 904.
