The boys, who will turn six next month, have been counting down the days to their first day of school and can’t wait for their parents Davina and Geoff to drop them off.
“We’ll read some letters, books, numbers and words,” Cooper said.
“We’ll make some new friends too,” Kieran said.
Mrs Wright said the boys had been ready to take the step up from preschool for months, and she didn’t expect them to find the transition difficult.
“I’m really excited, I can’t wait,” she said.
“I let them rule the roost, they’re so active they don’t stop but they’ve grown up so much in the last year.”
The boys will start their academic careers at Orange Public School in different classrooms to give them “a chance to shine in their own little ways,” Mrs Wright said.
“The only challenge I think they’ll have is having to go to school five days a week, they only went to childcare two days a week,” she said.
“I know I’ll cry on the day but it will be more out of excitement.”
Mr Wright admits as the boys became older it’s been more difficult to keep them entertained and stimulated.
Mr Wright said he expected Cooper, who he describes as “sporty and serious”, and “creative and resilient” Kieran to enjoy school.
“I know they’re ready,” he said.
