Sharp blasted 69 in his side’s innings of 159, before Kennedy took three crucial Cavaliers top-order wickets in a stunning spell that netted the left-armer 3-7 from four overs.
“Nicko got our man-of-the-match I think,” Wanderers skipper Daryl Kennewell said.
“But Scott came on and got the three guys who would have done the damage for Cavaliers pretty quickly, so he really got us over the line.”
Batting first, Wanderers piled on 159 despite not batting out the 40 overs, a total that Kennewell labelled “a bit less than we wanted”.
Josh Cheney (15) and Rowan Dray (15) got Wanderers off to a good start, before Sharp anchored the innings with his half ton - despite batting with a severely bruised ankle.
Cavaliers seamer Eddie Currall was the pick of the maroons’ bowlers, taking 4-33 from his eight overs.
Cavaliers’ chase started well with Will Currall and Matt Death taking the score to 27 without fall.
Enter Kennedy.
The burly left-armer snared Will Currall (8) and Eddie Currall (0) with his first two balls, before removing Death (13) with the first ball of his second over to leave the maroons reeling at 3-32.
Marcus Burrell (28) and Bailey Preston (11) somewhat steadied the ship before Cheney (2-16) and Shane Crowhurst (2-10) tore through Cavaliers’ lower order.
The maroons lost 6-9 to be bowled out for 72 in the 23rd over, a scorecard that included six batsmen getting ducks.
“It was a good win,” Kennewell said.
“We’ve always said our bowling is good enough to roll any side pretty cheaply, but our batting has only just been coming together.
“We didn’t bat out our overs, but we got the win anyway. Hopefully it’s not the only trophy we win this year.”
