The 18-year-old was on parole for breaking and entering at the time police say he committed the motel offence.
Police allege Albano was seen on the motel’s CCTV cameras and police chased him and his accomplices through the car park.
Officers followed him into the next car park and eventually arrested him.
He was questioned about the stolen food items police found nearby.
“I didn’t go into the room,” he told Police claiming his accomplices had entered the cool room.
“I have to eat somehow. I’m not telling you who the other two are.”
The Coronation Drive resident was refused bail in Orange Local Court on Monday and did not enter a plea to the charges.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Beau Riley said Albano should remain in custody because it was likely he would commit further offences.
“It is a serious offence he is on parole for,” Sergeant Riley said.
Albano’s solicitor Mick Madden said his client’s criminal history was “gathering quite quickly” but only started in 2013.
“His prospects of rehabilitation appear good,” Mr Madden said.
“It is difficult for rehabilitation while in custody.”
Mr Madden suggested magistrate Terry Lucas impose a curfew to ensure Albano did not commit further offences before his next court appearance.
But Mr Lucas said that breaking and entering was a “serious and prevalent” offence.
“[If convicted] there is a good chance of a custodial sentence,” he said.
