According to information provided by Orange City Council, an estimated 10.8-megalitre discharge was released between 8.45am and 4.45pm on Wednesday and has been "highly diluted" with stormwater.
The sewage has received course screening, primary settling and blended with fully treated effluent and chlorine contact.
The volume of pollutants has been estimated at 0.71 megalitres.
