General manager Brian Steffen said this practice is unhygienic and unnecessarily increases the chemical dosing requirements and the amount of cleaning required.
“The water park is a wonderful asset to our community and we want to ensure it is operational for use during the summer,” Mr Steffen said.
“Many residents and visitors have been and will continue to use the park during the warmer months and we want it to be able to stay that way.
“It is not intended to be used as a place to wash dogs and we request that the community refrains from this practice.”
Forbes Shire Council will be increasing patrols of the water park and residents are asked to report any such activity to council by phoning 6850 2300.
