Glenda Payne, with the help of Donna Holland, organised a Christmas raffle among their colleagues at Wangarang in December, selling tickets throughout the month.
The raffle raised more than $60, which was split between Cancer Council NSW and Ms Holland, who will represent Australia at the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) World Championships and Games in May.
Ms Payne, who presented Cancer Council community programs coordinator Fiona Markwick with the money on Wednesday, said she was glad she could help the Cancer Council because her grandmother had died from cancer.
“First prize was a gift card, second prize was a large Christmas hamper and third prize was a Christmas pudding,” Ms Payne said.
Ms Holland, who was thankful for the support, is a champion tenpin bowler, having participated in four IBSA championships, and said she was looking forward to travelling to Seoul, South Korea later this year.
“I’m getting excited a lot more, and I’m going to start doing more practice,” Ms Holland, who already trains twice a week, said.
“I’m aiming to get gold. I’ve already got bronze and silver, so I just need gold now.”
