At time of print yesterday afternoon Duntryleague golfers were abundant at the top of the leaderboard in both divisions.
Susan Fenwick shot the lights out of the difficultly set out Duntryleague course, finishing with a stellar round of 75 off the stick.
Just four shots behind was Sandra Schultz, who came in after 18 holes with a well constructed 79.
In the handicap competition another Duntryleague golfer, Elaine Cusack, finished with a net score of 69 just one shot behind overnight leader Pamela MacDonald, of Castle Hill, with 69.
Cusack just beat out Fenwick on a countback for second place.
In division two, Forbes’ Colleen Venables and Duntryleague’s Dawn Roberts were in a league of their own.
Venables finished her opening round with a scratch score of 93, while Roberts shot 94 to sit first and second respectively.
