Beasley backed up her 93 off the stick on Monday with 102 yesterday, earning a scratch total of 195 that was good enough to edge out fellow Duntryleague member Dot Tandy by seven strokes, with her rounds of 103 and 99 strong enough for second place.
The brilliant two-round score nabbed Beasley the Open’s division three handicap title too.
Beasley (64, 73) scored 137, four strokes better than Shirley Doherty - handicap rounds of 68 and 73 enough to land the Duntryleague member second.
In division four, Jenny Cutler carved up.
In a sure-fire sign home course advantage will mean plenty in today’s opening division one and two rounds, Cutler was the second Duntryleague member to claim the scratch and handicap double, with off-the-stick rounds of 103 and 102 enough to edge out Belmont’s Clare Swann.
Swann hit 101 and 106 to total 207 and miss out on both the scratch and handicap titles by just two strokes.
The 2014 tournament marks the 90th year since the event began, with play only being halted from 1940-47 during the war, and over 200 players from 37 clubs are expected to play this week.
