The Darling Causeway is also open between Mount Victoria and Bell.
Buses are still replacing trains between Katoomba and Lithgow on the Blue Mountains Line. There is no forecast for when trains will start running again.
Update 10.30am: The Great western Highway has re-opened but expect significant delays.
The road is open between Mount Victoria and Katoomba.
NSW Transport advises traffic is affected significantly in both directions due to the overnight closure of the highway and the Bells Line.
The Bells Line of Road between Lithgow and Mount Tomah is still closed.
WEDNESDAY, 7.30AM:
SNOW has forced the closure of both the Great Western Highway and Bells Line of Road on Wednesday morning.
The decision by Transport for New South Wales to close the roads was made overnight after out-of-season snow fell in the Blue Mountains.
The train line between Lithgow and Katoomba is also closed.
The decision cuts off the only two direct routes to Sydney from the central west, forcing road commuters to seek alternative travel arrangements or face massive detours through either the southern highlands or Hunter Valley.
The roads will be inspected throughout the morning.
