Along with the awards, Mick Gray and Steve Hamson were revealed as the Lions’ top grade co-coaches for season 2015.
“We haven’t announced anyone else as yet,” Orange City president Steve Stone said.
“But the announcement of Steve and Mick coaching again was a big thing.”
The awards were shared around and Stone said they were also thoroughly deserved by everyone who won a major prize.
Duncan Young took out the top grade best and fairest award, while Chris Scoins, Nicko Foliaki and Billy Freeman won the corresponding seconds, thirds and colts awards respectively.
Pat Williams was awarded the coveted Murray Grant Clubman of the Year award, while colt Terry Brown secured the Highest Representative Player award after representing NSW Country Colts in 2014.
Joey Thorley earned the Grant McLean Colt of the Year and Scotty Smith was given the Best Front Rower gong, donated by John Hamling.
Stone was also keen to highlight diminutive halfback Tom Nell, who won the Most Improved award.
After acknowledging how good of a night Saturday was, Stone denied it was the perfect way to finish a season.
“No it wasn’t, we didn’t win first grade,” he laughed.
“Really though, it was a wonderful way to celebrate quite a good season as a whole club. Obviously winning the club championship again was the biggest thing, but the colts also got a title which puts the club in pretty good stead.
“A lot of those blokes got first grade experience as well, which is massive.
“Also our juniors are of a very high quality, which, again, gives us good standing for the future.”
