Payne has won the last four City of Orange Golf Championships - a cumulative event consisting of 18 holes at each of Orange’s three golf courses.
Payne has won the Championship every year he has contested it and his 2013 victory was his 14th title.
Last year, Payne had a 54-hole scratch result of 215.
In both 2012 and 2010 he shot 212.
Although 2011’s Wentworth section of the Championship was washed out, nothing could dampen Payne’s spirit as he won his 12th Championship title, scoring 141 over 36 holes.
In 2014 Payne is endeavouring to secure his fifth title in a row, and his 15th overall.
While Payne has been ruling the men’s game, Alison Seib has been chipping away at her own title run.
Seib has won the last four women’s championships, shooting a scratch total of 239 in last year’s competition.
In 2012 she had a slightly better tournament, shooting 237. During the wet Wentworth weekend of 2011 she scored 160 over 36 holes.
Her first win in the ladies’ division was in 2010 with a score of 231.
Both are going into the upcoming City of Orange Championship as favourites to take out their respective titles.
This year’s Championship will run from October 4-6, and to enter you must have a current Australian handicap and be affiliated with an Australian golf club.
