A moving speech from Year 12 year adviser Ammie Hourigan and a slide show of photos left most students sniffling and wiping away a tear as they hugged each other after the assembly.
The 75 students have almost finished high school, with only the written examinations for the Higher School Certificate (HSC) standing between them and life after school.
In her speech, Ms Hourigan noted the year group was very close, something school captains Taylor Clark and Alex Brown agreed with.
“We have all become really close, especially over Year 11 and 12,” Taylor said.
“Everyone’s been so supportive of us [as captains], even if we have to get up and don’t know what exactly we’re supposed to be doing, they encourage us,” Alex said.
“It’s been amazing,” Taylor added.
Principal Chad Bliss said he considered the class to be one of the best year groups he had taught and wished them all the best for the HSC.
“We’ll be sad when they leave. They’ve certainly developed into fine young adults and role models for their peers,” he said.
“Humility, compassion, loyalty, certainly friendship, honesty and trust; they have really highlighted the values we have here at Canobolas.”
