Despite a challenge from councillor Jeff Whitton, Cr Davis took out the ballot seven councillors to four.
The deputy mayor’s position also went unchanged, with councillor Chris Gryllis elected.
Four candidates nominated for the position, including Cr Gryllis, Cr Scott Munro, Cr Jason Hamling, and Cr Kevin Duffy, however Cr Duffy withdrew his nomination prior to the vote.
The first round left councillors Gryllis and Munro with four votes each and Cr Hamling was excluded from the second round.
The second tally led to a comfortable majority, with Cr Gryllis winning the vote nine councillors to two.
Councillor Russell Turner was absent from the meeting.
The result was at odds with Central Western Daily polls on Monday, which listed Cr Whitton as the preferred mayor 53.5 per cent to Cr Davis’s 46.5 per cent from 185 voters.
Cr Duffy won the online poll for deputy with 41 per cent of the 190 voting readers, leading Cr Hamling with 29 per cent, Cr Gryllis on 19 per cent and Cr Munro on 11 per cent.
