Taking on Orange Emus, the Lions have beaten the greens both times they’ve clashed this season, in round nine and round 18.
On top of that, they have kept Emus scoreless in both encounters.
Despite Emus’ experience the Lions trumped the greens 5-nil and 25-nil on their way to the minor premiership, and Orange City hooker Ben Wilson said he expects his side to secure a third win over the Chooks on Saturday at Pride Park.
“We’re always very confident,” Wilson said.
“We know how good Emus are, they’re very experienced and have a very solid line-up, so we won’t underestimate them.
“But we’ve beaten them twice, and we are very motivated after our loss to Dubbo.”
Roos beat Orange City in the major semi-final two weekends ago, and Wilson said his side is champing at the bit to get another shot at Dubbo.
“We feel like we need to redeem ourselves against Dubbo,” Wilson said.
“They knocked us out last year in the finals, and beat us again in Dubbo in the major. It would be satisfying to beat them, especially in a grand final.
“But that means beating Emus first, so we need to focus on our set-piece, get some power through our scrum and out-muscle them in general.”
The third grade fixture kicks off at 1.10pm.
