A MAN in his 60s has been taken to Orange hospital with lacerations to his body after he drove into the front of his neighbour's Sunny South Crescent house after exiting his own driveway.
The man is believed to have accidentally accelerated into the house, diagonally across the road from him, shortly before 10am on Thursday, hitting the front of the house and damaging brickwork and a window.
The house was unoccupied at the time.
Canobolas Local Area Command duty officer Peter Atkins said the man was treated at the scene for a cut to the head before being taken to Orange hospital for further treatment.
Video: What Inspector Peter Atkins had to say about the accident:
"The house has had some damage to the window and there was some structural damage to the house," inspector Atkins said.
A neighbour, who declined to be named, said no one was home at the time of the incident.
"I was a block or two away and I heard some revving and then a bang," he said.
"I think his accelerator got stuck, he's just lucky he didn't hit a tree.
"He's got a pretty bad cut on his knee," he said
