Held at the Sydney Gymnastics and Aquatic Centre, Chloe Jaques bounced her way to two bronze medals, while PCYC coach Shaye Moss said Niamh McPhee, Emily Hennessey and Zareah Coughlan all “performed very well”, going agonisingly close to a podium finish several times.
Jaques secured third place finishes in both the Level 1 Trampoline and Level 1 DMT (double-mini trampoline), thanks to several stellar passes.
In the trampoline section, Jaques finished 0.70 points behind eventual winner Caitlin Miners and 0.30 behind second-placed Summer Stewart, both of Ingleburn, scoring 25.70 of a possible 30.
In the final event of the day, the DMT, Jaques finished 0.10 behind Miners and Paige Stewart, from the Kachan School of Tumbling and Performance, who finished first and second respectively.
Jaques scored 88.40, of a possible 90, thanks to scores of 29.30, 29.70 and 29.40 in her respective first, second and final passes.
Jaques also came equal 17th in the Level 1 Tumbling with a score of 27.10 out of a possible 30.
“Phoebe is a very focused girl, she did incredibly,” Moss said.
McPhee, unlucky not to secure a medal, finished sixth in the trampoline, equal 17th in the tumbling and fifth in the DMT with scores of 25.40, 27.10 and 88.20 respectively.
In competitions with 24, 40 and 23 competitors respectively, Hennessey and Coughlan both put their best foot forward, securing middle-of-the-pack finishes in all three events.
Hennessey scored 24.60, 27.00 and 87.60 to finish 10th, 20th and 12th respectively, while Coughlan finished 14th, 29th and 15th with respective scores of 24.10, 26.70 and 87.10.
