She was nominated for the challenge by Marisa Belmonte from the Orange Tenpin Bowl.
In return, Cook, known as "Cookie", nominated rugby union players Orange City's Josh Tremain and Orange Emus' Nigel Staniforth to complete the challenge, along with referee Fletcher Niven.
It was no surprise the CWD's sports desk members Matt Findlay and Nick McGrath were happy to throw the icy water at their sports editor.
Cook will make her donation to the Animal Welfare League ... once she thaws out.
