Belmonte is one of three players to qualify for the men’s finals after the last event of the 2013-14 tour was held last weekend in Bangkok.
The 31-year old missed the Thai tournament as he was holidaying with his family in Europe, but his 538 points were still enough for him to earn a WBT finals berth.
Finland’s Mika Koivuniemi was the men’s top qualifier for the finals with 567 points.
Second qualifier is American Sean Rash on 549 points.
England’s Dom Barrett had a chance to move into the top three with a good result in Bangkok, however he didn’t reach the heights he needed and finished fourth with 531 WBT points.
Belmonte’s points received a significant boost when he won the 2013 and 2014 United State Bowling Congress (USBC) Masters crowns.
The WBT finals will be held in Las Vegas on November 1-2, during the Professional Bowlers Association’s (PBA) World Series of Bowling.
The WBT finals uses a stepladder format, with Belmonte needing to beat Rash for a chance to take on Koivuniemi in the decider.
The winner will pocket $20,000, with second taking home $10,000 and third claiming $5000.
The WBT is made up of events around the world and players earn points based on where they finish in each tournament.
This year’s finals come after a two-year cycle of tournaments covering 2013 and 2014.
