The group of people who attend the hospital’s clinics as patients are those who are most disadvantaged by the lack of suitable parking, whether local or who travel long distances to Orange.
No matter how early you leave home to attend an appointment at a clinic there is no guarantee of finding a parking space close to the hospital’s entrance. Inevitably there will be a long and sometimes arduous walk.
A barcode card issued for the next appointment would allow such patients to enter a restricted zone close to the hospital entrance.
The card would also be available to all visitors to the hospital on days when the clinics are not operating.
There is no doubt that patients after attending a clinic do not hang around more than is totally necessary.
