Dubbo Kangaroos trumped Orange City in last year’s preliminary final, eliminating them from the premiership race, and Lions’ halfback Will Ryan said his side is desperate to reverse the result at Dubbo’s No.1 Oval tomorrow.
Orange City secured the minor premiership after manoeuvring through the 2014 regular season undefeated, and Ryan said his side knows how valuable securing a grand final spot on Saturday will be.
“We know we need to step up now,” he said.
“We’ve spoken about Dubbo a lot.
“They’re a big, more experienced team, particularly in the forwards, and we know they have some very handy outside backs.
“Playing in Dubbo is a massive challenge, but we’re up for it.”
Third grade kicks off at 12.10pm.
