In my opinion, this also applies to the events being recalled in television programs and new books about World War I - especially those relating to Gallipoli.
We sometimes forget that the Anzacs invaded Turkey, just as our forces helped to invade Iraq in recent years.
While over 8,000 Australians died at Gallipoli in 1915, Turkey lost almost 87,000.
Our very good city library can help with books and DVDs on this subject and, of course, there’s always the internet.
PS: A small book that I have found very informative and easy to read is Gallipoli - the Turkish Story by Kevin Fewster and others (2003).
