Parking is indeed a problem there but none of the columns referring to it in your publication have made mention of an alternative. One article stated “No cure for parking pain at hospital.”
To the contrary there is a cure.
There is a regular bus service starting from the Metro Plaza and calling at the Orange Railway Station, which has free all-day parking, to the hospital and back again, via the station, to the Hotel Canobolas.
While this may not suit everyone requiring access to the facilities of the health service it could undoubtedly reduce some of the congestion were more people aware of it. The service is available six days weekly.
There is little publicity in Orange about such a public transport service and I expect even less in Parkes for people like Mr Wilson who wrote the letter to the editor mentioned above.
I have used this service and find it very efficient.
Is there any publicity for this service at the hospital itself and is there any mention of it in the admission papers that patients must complete prior to their treatment?
