Last Friday the RDA had a street stall in Post Office Lane, selling cakes, jams, slices and pot plants to raise money for the upkeep of the facilities in Clifton Grove.
Spokeswoman Barbara Edge said the stall was successful, raising $500, while the RDA raised a further $700 from bucket collections.
“The money will go towards improving facilities, maintenance and looking after the horses. The costs are upwards of $20,000 every year,” Mrs Edge said.
“Thank-you for the people who donated money and the members of the public who donated goods for the street stall.”
Four times a year, the RDA holds events to raise the vital funds they need to provide riding therapy to children with disabilities.
The next fundraiser will be a Melbourne Cup-themed day on the first Wednesday of November.
