ORANGE McDonald’s owner Todd Bryant will put his fitness to the ultimate test later this month when he hopes to complete an 800-kilometre ride as part of the Ronald McDonald House Charities’ Ride for Sick Kids event.

And while Mr Bryant admits it’s going to be a struggle getting from Wagga to Sydney, he knows it’s a small sacrifice to make in order to help raise essential funds for Orange’s own Ronald McDonald House.

“I got involved with this ride from the start because the Ronald McDonald House here in Orange needs funds to assist families and children,” he said.

“People have told me I haven’t done enough training, and people tell me I’m going to be really hurting after day one - I agree, but that pain is just a small sacrifice to make compared to the sick children and families who rely on Ronald McDonald House.

“I’ll be using them as my inspiration.”

Mr Bryant stressed all money raised from his ride would go directly to Orange’s Ronald McDonald House, which is a 100 per cent non-for-profit organisation.

“Ronald McDonald House offers children and their families somewhere where they can stay, free of charge, while they undergo treatment for a range of illnesses and I believe this is a vital service and was only too happy to get right behind this ride,” he said.

“Hopefully these funds can help ensure Ronald McDonald House in Orange opens by the end of the year.”

Mr Bryant set a fundraising target of $10,000, and has already tipped over the $3000 mark.

“I still believe I can achieve my goal,” he said. “With 16 days left I’m encouraging everyone to get on board.”

Mr Bryant is also on the lookout for anyone else who would like to participate in the ride.
