Orange’s Mardi Aplin said despite her Canberra Darters having a lacklustre Australian Netball League (ANL) season so far, this weekend’s games are a way to finish the year on a positive note.
The ninth-placed Darters take on the Southern Force and Western Sting, sitting fifth and sixth respectively, this weekend at Sydney’s Anne Clark Netball Centre.
Aplin said her side will look to score a win on Saturday against the Force to build some confidence into Sunday’s clash with the Sting.
“This year has been up and down,” she said.
“But some of the girls playing are only 16 and 17. We’re young, so we’re trying to bring them through.
“We saw last weekend when we decrease our error rate we can do some wonderful things, so that’s our goal in these final two games. Hopefully we can grab a couple of wins.”
The Darters’ clash with the Force starts at 4pm on Saturday before a short turnaround into Sunday’s game against the Sting, from 11.30am.
