The two sides, sitting ninth and 10th respectively, have little to play for on Saturday other than pride and development.
The cellar dwellers won’t even be competing for the dreaded wooden spoon - ‘Feds are guaranteed last place despite being just one win behind Kinross-CYMS, thanks to an unassailable goal difference.
Kinross-CYMS coach Pete Shea and ‘Feds mentor Mark Pengilly both said their respective sides are desperate for a win, but looking to next season is just as important.
“We’ll do what we have been doing all year, competing and trying to improve,” Shea explained.
“We keep a core group together next season, so this year has been great in terms of developing combinations and that will continue [today].
“If we can control the ball through the midfield, take our opportunities and minimise theirs we should do well. A win would be nice, we do want to finish on a positive note.”
“On for and against, no matter today’s result we get the wooden spoon,” Pengilly said.
“It’s disappointing in a way but now we just want to finish the season on a high. A win will equal us on points with Kinross-CYMS, and that’s what we want.”
Pengilly said his side is primed for the clash and will bring a full strength side into the game, which isn’t lacking motivation or confidence.
“We finally have everyone available,” he said.
“We also have some younger players we want to give a go, and look to the future. Kinross-CYMS have some good players and we need to shut them out of the game. We’re looking to apply some pressure, push forward and hopefully grab a win.
“Being an Orange derby I’m sure both sides have extra motivation, it’s always the case. We want to get one up on Kinross-CYMS.”
The Orange derby kicks off at 1.10pm on Saturday at Orange Hockey Centre.
