POLICE from State Crime Command's Sex Crimes Squad have arrested a 46-year-old teacher from Orange after he allegedly transmitted indecent material to a 15-year-old boy via the internet.

At the time of the alleged offence, the man was a teaching principal in a small school in the central west.
In April this year, detectives from the Sex Crimes Squad's Child Exploitation Internet Unit (CEIU) received information from Queensland police about alleged inappropriate online activity by a man from Orange.
CEIU detectives conducted further inquiries, which resulted in the arrest of a man at Orange Police Station at 5pm on Thursday.
The man was charged with use carriage service to send indecent material to person under 16 years of age.
Police will allege that during the conversations, which occurred in January 2014, the man made inappropriate comments toward the teenager.
The man was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Orange Local Court on September 4.
Regular covert online investigations are conducted by the Child Exploitation Internet Unit and police in NSW work closely with their law enforcement colleagues interstate and overseas.
