Relying on his gut feeling the Waratahs would take out the cup he says he didn’t have to rely on his skills with numbers to work out the outcome.
“Actually it took me about three seconds,” he said.
“I certainly didn’t sit down and analyse it all.”
Mr Pearce is now the lucky winner of a prize of $1000 from Central Western Daily management as winner of the the tipping competition.
Mr Pearce has been involved in the Super Rugby tipping competition with the CWD for the last four years and says he’s keenly followed the games of the NSW Waratahs, winners of the competition for the first time this year, and also the ACT Brumbies.
“I think there’s a good chance the Waratahs can do it again next year as well, they or the Brumbies could take it out,” he said.
It was Mr Pearce’s first win in the tipping competition.
Super Rugby competition also involves the Queensland Reds, Melbourne Rebels and Western Force in Australia.
New Zealand has five regional teams involved in the competition and South Africa has five teams from the provinces in the competition.
