ORANGE’S sporting teams had a stellar 2013 with regional and state titles.

But the Orange and District Pistol Club took home the 2013 Team of the Year prize at Tuesday's Orange Credit Union Sports Awards after boasting the Australian team and a world champion combination.

Peter Brus, Max Wicks, Dean Brus and Dave Oates won the teams prize for the club after being on target in 2013.

At the World Club teams event during the WA1500 World Championships in Perth in 2013, Max and Peter, representing the Orange club, won the Master grade revolver title.

In the high master competition, Dave and Dean were second in the revolver and pistol events.

Dave, who also won the 2013 Sportsperson of the Year award, said he was thrilled for the club to claim the teams prize.

“I’m really stoked with that,” Dave said.

“We just had a really good year last year. Especially for young Peter Brus. He really stepped up over there. Max was very solid over there as well. Peter and Max actually did better in the club team event that Dean and I did.”

“We’ve had a really good night.”
