And the fact she’s been nominated for an AusMumpreneur award that recognises mums in business achieving outstanding success proves she’s doing a great job.
“Absolutely, it’s very exciting to be recognised and to see what you’re doing be noticed is fantastic,” the Orange mother of Jake, 5, and Lexie, 3, said.
Mrs Egan started her Little Silver Prints business three years ago while looking for the perfect present for her mother who lives in England.
Little Silver Prints makes baby keepsakes, -designed fingerprint jewellery and memories that will last a lifetime.
“I partly started because I wanted something unique for my mum who lives in England, but I was also searching for something to do while I was at home with the kids,” she said.
“Sometimes it’s very difficult, but as the kids get a little bit older it gets a little easier. I also do a lot of catching up in the evenings.”
There’s plenty of benefits to working from home, according to Mrs Egan.
“Running a business from home enables me to be as present as possible while my children are young,” she said.
“I can also organise my work day around their activities and don’t have to miss out on some things like many other parents have to when they work regular hours.”
Finalists will be selected from a public vote at www.ausmumpreneur.com with voting to close on October 6.
Winners will be announced at an awards dinner in Melbourne after voting closes.
