Confederates defender Sam Stevenson says her side isn’t short of motivation in Saturday’s women’s Premier League Hockey clash with Bathurst Souths.
“The comments they made after our last game are motivation enough,” Stevenson said.
“The girls are pretty fired up.”
Souths coach Damien Carter lit a fire in ’Feds players’ bellies with his comments following his side’s victory in the corresponding game in round eight.
After his side secured a clinical 5-1 win, Carter claimed “when you play games like that against Confederates you come down to their level”.
“We’re on a bit of a mission to show them we’re not easybeats,” Stevenson said.
“We’re going to show them we can cut it at Premier League level. We want to start playing some consistent hockey in these last three rounds and hopefully win a couple of games.
“Knocking off Souths [today] would be a great way to start.”
Confederates’ grudge match with Souths starts at 2.35pm.
