Mrs Smithers said with more than 2000 registered participants from across the state this year ticket sales would be hectic, especially when tickets for the baby groups go on sale from August 5 at 10am.
“Sometimes popular sessions like this do sell out, but not everyone wants to watch an entire session and we also have television screens available for those who prefer that,” she said.
“We’ll always do our very best to make sure that no one misses out. If you do miss out on tickets, please ask a committee member on the day who will ensure you do not miss out on seeing your child’s dance.”
Mrs Smithers also said it was essential for parents to liaise with their child’s dance teachers to ensure they know which session they’ll be participating in, which in turn makes purchasing the right session tickets easier.
Tickets for the baby group dances on August 24 go on sale on August 5 between 10am and 4pm, with all other dance sessions on sale from August 6 from 10am to 4pm.
“We’re really asking for people to be patient because theatre staff can only process requests as quickly as their system allows,” Mrs Smithers said.
“You may be better to wait until after the initial rush of the first day of sales to avoid queues - and remember people can only purchase six tickets to a session at a time to allow for fair distribution.”
Mrs Smithers said the committee was thrilled they’d received record entries this year and they can’t wait for things to get under way.
“It’s really pleasing that people want to come from all over the state to compete in Orange,” she said.
“They seem to like coming here - lucky for us we have fantastic facilities which keeps them coming back.”
