While still a mathematical chance to make the finals, Ex-Services’ play-offs dream would be all but extinguished with a loss to second-placed Parkes today.
In seventh place, eight points adrift of the top five, Ex-Services needs to win most of, if not all of, the final four games of the season to have any hope of featuring in the finals.
“We got over Parkes last time (1-nil) in Orange, but it will be a lot tougher in Parkes,” Ex-Services coach Mitch Kennewell said.
“They’ve got some great players in the middle and up front that we need to shut down. We know the position we’re in, we basically have to win the rest of our games to qualify, which is a position we didn’t want to be in.
“But we’re here now and it’s up to the girls to get the job done. If anyone can do it we can.
“If we convert our opportunities, which we’ve been working very hard on at training, I think we’re a good chance.”
Ex-Services’ clash with Parkes starts at 1.25pm, in Parkes.
