The Bears host last year’s premiers at King George Oval, the clash doubling as an Old Boys day in remembrance of Michael “Huck” Hornby.
Blayney is also coming off three consecutive losses, albeit in games contested for the entire 80 minutes.
In front of their home crowd, the Bears are thinking of nothing but victory.
“We definitely want to put on a show at home, especially with our Old Boys day,” Blayney captain-coach Terawhiti Cooper said.
“I maybe put a bit too much pressure on us at our last training, there was a lot of yelling going on. But that’s just because we want to beat CYMS.
“Me especially, you want to beat those sides you represent.”
With CYMS coming off four consecutive losses, Cooper said knowing the green and gold mentality somewhat will act as a huge advantage.
“Obviously I know Sully [CYMS captain-coach Mick Sullivan], and I think he’d be stressing as much as I am,” Cooper laughed.
“I always expect CYMS to come out hard, but I think we need to expect them to come harder [today].
“I think recently we’ve run out of legs a bit, we’re really missing those effective reserves. Sometimes they’re the most important players on the field.
“But we should be good, and I think if anything we’ll beat them up the middle. Myself and my mate Jake Mooney will truck it up as much as possible to give the outside guys as much space as possible.”
Kick-off times have changed dramatically from regular rounds, with league tag starting at 9.30am, under 18s at 10.35am, the Old Boys clash at 12pm, first division at 12.45pm and premier league at 2.15pm.
The Blayney committee requests all spectators enter through the Queen Street entrance to save congestion.
