CYMS haven’t been in this position since captain-coach Mick Sullivan took over the top job five years ago.
Before now, under Sullivan’s tutelage, the green and golds hadn’t lost more than two games in a row.
“My record just keeps getting worse,” Sullivan laughed.
“We’ve slipped a bit which I think had to come eventually, we’re a pretty hunted side. Teams always get up to play us.
“But we aren’t panicking, this is just another challenge for us and it will make it even more enjoyable when we get back up the top.”
Sitting fourth, Sullivan said he is confident his troops will turn it around.
“We aren’t losing by much,” he said.
“We should have beaten St Pat’s and we couldn’t have given (Orange) Hawks any more ball last weekend, so there are positives I guess, not that I take too many from four straight losses.
“We aren’t too far away, but I guess we’re still losing, so we need to work hard to rectify that.”
Sullivan labelled attitude and execution as his team’s main problems after CYMS’ 24-18 loss to Hawks last weekend, and said with a bye this weekend provides the perfect opportunity to fix any problems among the group.
“The bye should be good for us, at least we won’t slip further down the table,” he laughed.
“Hard work is the only way out it. I’ve probably been a bit soft on little things at training and that affects attitude.
“So we’ll train over the weekend, hard, to make sure we’re up for the Blayney game after the bye to grab a win.
“With so many games on the road from now on we can’t afford to be playing catch up footy.”
