THERE’S no doubting the strength of Orange’s high-end property market after a Byng Street house sold for $1.03 million on Saturday, the highest price paid for a residential house at auction.

McCormack Barber principal Ken Barber said the sale price of 39-41 Byng Street was exceptional and well above the reserve.

Meanwhile ... what may have started off as a prank has turned into a costly problem for the Great Moscow Circus whose three-metre tall inflatable clown Boris still hasn’t been found after he was stolen more than a week ago.

Roadwork this week in and around Orange:

- Pavement work on Burrendong Way

- Work starting on the traffic lights at the southern  Bloomfield Hospital gates on Forest Road

- Asphalt surface laid on intersection of Hill Street at Margaret Street

On the region's major roads watch our for some delays during roadworks.

- Routine roadworks on the Great Western Highway between Bathurst and Mount Victoria, with five-minute delays expected.

- Routine maintenance work on the Mitchell Highway between Bathurst and Wellington, with ten-minute delays.

As usual, let's begin with a look at today's weather.

The Weather Report

Today's don't expect that temperature gauge to rise very high and for all you newbies to Orange put on an extra layer. The top temperature today is expected at 3pm when the gauge will hit a 'low' of eight  degrees rising from a minimum of four degrees recorded at 6am this morning. Intermittent rain and showers are expected so there's not much point pegging the washing out.

In the Bathurst area today after a low of six degrees at 6am with some showers there will be a top of eleven at 3pm. As expected Dubbo will experience slightly warmer temps with a bearable minimum of eight degrees today climing to a pleasant fifteen degrees.
