ORANGE Emus coach Andrew Logan was a happy man after his side's 17-5 win over Bathurst Bulldogs at Endeavour Oval on Saturday.

The win firmly entrenches the greens in the Blowes Clothing Cup competition's top three, with only Dubbo Kangaroos and arch-rivals Orange City Lions sitting above Logan's side.

The mentor was especially happy with the defensive effort which, aside from one small and late lapse, kept the Bulldogs' big forward pack at bay.

Bathurst Bulldogs' assistant coach Scott Johnston lamented a lack of consistency in the visitors' play, noting patches of the game where they showed their best rugby were too often interrupted by a lack of execution.
