THE secret to looking good during 15 performances at this year’s City of Orange Eisteddfod dance sections is a good dressmaker according to dedicated mother Angela Harrison.
“The secret is find a very good dressmaker, we have a very lovely lady that makes our costumes,” Mrs Harrison said.
Mrs Harrison’s daughter Stephanie performed 12 solo routines and three improvisations during the last two weeks and wore a number of different costumes during the fortnight.
Stephanie’s love of dance is a long one, the 16-year-old has been performing since she was four and has no plans to stop.
The dedicated student of Colour City Dance Works already teaches younger students on a regular basis at the studio.
Stephanie is already looking towards the future and said once she finishes her schooling at James Sheahan Catholic High School she hopes to continue teaching dance.
“I just love it, it lets you express yourself in different ways and shows who you are through dancing,” she said.
Stephanie said she enjoys passing on her love of dance to young students and said lots of practice makes for a good performance.
“A lot of practice and lessons every week with the teachers and then practise at home,” she said.
The City of Orange dance section wrapped up at the Orange Civic Theatre on Sunday following two weeks of performances.
