HUNDREDS of car fans turned out at Bryant Park on Sunday for the 25th anniversary of the FB EK Holden Nationals.
Ninety plus vehicles were on display with proud owners happy to answer questions and share memories and epxeriences.
The FB EK Holden is famous for its colourful two-tone colour schemes, big fins, wraparound windscreen and lots of chrome." said NSW Club President Tim Brook.
"The model was very popular in its time and many people often have fond memories of their family owning one."
"The FB EK Holden was produced between 1960 and 1962 by General Motors Holden and became one of Australia's most popular cars.
It soon accounted for almost 50 per cent of the new car market.
"Following a decade of rock n roll, slick oiled hair and TV hits such as I Love Lucy, the FB and EK Holden rode a wave of popularity for all things American."
"The FB EK received a total makeover and elements of US design were incorporated into the new design, but the FB and EK Holden always had a distinctively Australian style and built for Australian conditions.
The body was longer, the bonnet was lower and flatter and real 'fins' were incorporated into the fade away sweeping rear quarters.
