Jamie Allen Dickson sped off from police and hit two speed humps, in excess of 50km/h in, front of Glenroi Heights Public School at 4pm on Thursday, April 24, a school day.
The 32-year-old was charged with a shoplifting offence when he and a passenger in his car spotted police in Leura Road.
The Nyrang Road resident turned right into Garema Road, did a U-turn, turned into Maxwell Avenue and accelerated hard, police facts said.
“The rear tyres left the road every time he passed over the speed humps,” facts said.
After a few minutes, Dickson was forced to slow down because there was a car ahead blocking his way so he quickly turned into Moad Street and then into Elizabeth Street and then into Garden Street in an attempt to evade police.
Eventually the car pulled over in Garden Street.
Police discovered Dickson was unlicensed because of a football injury “10 or 12 years ago” which rendered him unfit to drive.
Police also discovered the car was unregistered, uninsured and had the wrong number plate.
He was charged with driving unregistered and uninsured and received a $600 fine for each offence, he received $500 for a shoplifting offence, $1000 for driving without a licence and $1500 for driving dangerously, in Orange Local Court on Thursday.
