A PARTY turned violent in the early hours of Sunday when a 45-year-old man allegedly assaulted three people while wielding an axe.

The man, who was visiting Orange from South Australia, became involved in an altercation with his daughter, her boyfriend and another young friend, at around 12.20am.
During the Pindari Place party the man allegedly threatened his daughter’s friend with an axe before swinging the blade towards the man and hitting the laundry wall instead.
The man is also alleged to have assaulted his daughter’s boyfriend and then his daughter, who fell over and cut her leg.
Police arrested the man and charged him with three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of intent to commit an indictable offence.
He was also found in possession of a substance police believed to be marijuana.
The man was denied bail by police, before appearing in Orange Local Court on Sunday where he was given conditional bail to appear in court again on June 19.
