UNDER 17s assistant coach Jacki Jasprizza believes the Orange Netball Association’s hugely successful opens outfit has blazed a trail that’ll ensure opposition sides are on Orange watch at all major netball carnivals.

It’s a well worn path scattered with victories that’ll mean all sides aim up against any opponent with an orange bib.
And Jasprizza is confident her side will experience that rise in intensity when the girls’ division two campaign at this weekend’s Netball NSW State Championship kicks off today.
“I’d like to think so,” Jasprizza said when asked if opposition sides look out for Orange teams at major state carnivals.
“I think Orange is getting a reputation as a pretty formidable association and we’re developing netball very well.”
Orange will get its first taste of under 17 state championship netball when it goes head-to-head with Ulladulla this morning.
Naturally a state championship will boast the best sides in NSW, and while Jasprizza wasn’t entirely sure which teams would be tough at this weekend’s tournament pedigree alone will ensure the likes of Parramatta-Auburn, Maitland and Dubbo will feature at the pointy end of the division’s ladder come Monday.
But whichever side Orange is faced with, Jasprizza was confident in her side’s ability and warned them not to be “soft” against some of the division two teams they’re expected to account for easily.
“Overall I think we should do quite well. The core group has [played a lot of netball together], there’s some top age kids and some bottom age kids, and they’ve all gone through as state age kids all the way through.
“There’s a lot of nifty little combinations.”
One absentee will be gun defender Abby Tilburg, she’s out with an ankle injury suffered earlier in the week.
Hollie Harris comes in for Tilburg.
“They’re a great bunch of kids that have trained really well. I’m hoping for a top five finish, I like to think.”
