MUSICIANS of all skill levels and styles are welcome to come along to the Agrestic Grocer to share their music at an open mike afternoon on Sunday.

From 3pm until around 5pm, musicians can bring their instruments to the store and chose a 15-minute time slot to play whatever they want for the audience.

However no free spots can be guaranteed, so people are encouraged to come early to make sure they get a chance to play, and manager Lucas Martin said past events have seen a whole range of musicians show off their talent.

“We hope if someone has been learning guitar for a week and they want to play Mary Had A Little Lamb that everyone would be supportive,” Mr Martin said. “There are no expectations.”

The bar at the store will also be open, with beer, wine and nibbles available and plenty of seating for people who just want to watch, and Mr Martin said the monthly open mike events are always popular.

“We’ve being hosting these open mike afternoons for a couple of months now,” Mr Martin said. “It’s such a good, friendly afternoon, and we hope as more people become interested, we’ll be able to hold them more often.”
