On Saturday and Sunday you can browse through thousands of books of all genres and categories, from classic novels to history, in Murray Hall behind the church.
Money raised from the fair will go towards the Orange Uniting Parish, and volunteer Margaret Williams said she enjoyed giving up her time to sort through the books.
“People ask us to put away certain books for them if we come across them. There’s a guy who is interested in history, another who has an interest in penguins,” Mrs Williams said.
“I just love the book fair, there are so many hidden gems here.”
The fair will be open from 9am until 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, with prices starting from 50 cents, ranging to $5, with some collectable items priced slightly higher.
The annual St John’s book fair has been running for six years, and Mrs Williams said she thought it was one of the first book fairs to start in Orange.
“People come every year and they know they can find something good,” Mrs Williams said. “Hopefully we can raise thousands of dollars this year.”
