A store owner had allegedly witnessed the woman steal a small number of items from his store so chased the 28-year-old woman through the centre before detaining her with the help of another shopkeeper.
The two retailers then took the woman upstairs to centre management where she assaulted one of them, and escaped before falling through the roof of the Amcal City Centre Pharmacy before attempting to run from the centre.
Pharmacy staff chased the woman and she was arrested by police a short time later, and charged with breaching her bail conditions, theft, assault and malicious damage.
The woman was due to appear in Orange Local Court on Thursday afternoon.
Canobolas Local Area Command inspector Peter Atkins reminded retailers to be cautious in these situations.
"In the end we had a good result," he said.
