Brief of evidence in Manduarama baby's death to be served in May

THE case against a man charged with the murder of an 11-month-old baby girl earlier this month has been adjourned until May 12.

Bathurst Local Court has ordered that the brief of evidence be served on or before May 2, with May 12 set down for reply in Bathurst.

The 35-year-man facing the murder charge made no application for bail when the case was mentioned in court Monday.

The 11-month-old baby girl died on Wednesday, April 2 after being taken to Blayney Hospital by the man, who told police she had suffered head injuries from a trampoline fall at the family home in Mandurama.

After making a number of inquiries, and receiving the results of a post- mortem, police arrested the man outside Bathurst police station last Wednesday afternoon.

He was subsequently charged with one count of murder.
