Despite being a little wet underfoot, the festival went ahead in perfect autumn weather.
It is the coming together of many groups in the community that is a highlight for Mrs Rankin.
“Today we have indigenous people, white people and refugees, and there is a fantastic atmosphere,” she said.
Mr Rankin says one of the joys of the festival, which is in its 25th year, is being able to provide all the activities free for children and their parents.
“No one has to get their wallet out here today,” he said.
“It is a lovely community feeling.
Mr Rankin said the event would not be possible without the combined efforts of local churches, the ministers’ association and businesses that donated to the festival.
He said the religious-based festival focused on fun and activities.
Mr Rankin said he was pleased to see Robertson Park being used to its full potential.
“I remember when we first started, no one used the park for social events and there were broken bottles and glass,” he said.
“We were the first ones to get that rolling and it is good to see council has done so much work so the park can be more widely used.
“The only thing missing today is public toilets.”
